Resumo:
The present theme was selected from my concerns and observations about the contribution of music as an auxiliary tool in cognitive and psychomotor learning in early childhood education. Having questions: What is the contribution of music in early childhood education and what are its implications in the cognitive and psychomotor development of the students in this stage of education? From this fact I proposed this work that has as general objective: To analyze the contribution of music in the process of cognitive and psychomotor development of the students in children's education and by specifics: To analyze the theoretical conceptions regarding the importance of music in this stage of teaching and to discuss how much the historicity and insertion of music in the Brazilian educational context. Where I tried to use the bibliographic research that guides and gives the necessary theoretical support to the whole research process, considering that this work is based solely and specifically on the theoretical analyzes resulting from the bibliographic research. As a theoretical reference the research was used by Romanelli (2009), Silva (2010), Brito (2003), Rosa (1990) among other authors. The main findings of this research are that music in early childhood education is a fundamental component of the school curriculum and essential to the cognitive, psychomotor and socio-cultural development of learners.
