In this study, a family unit was evaluated through action research seeking to use geotechnology as a tool to improve the identification of the evolution of agroecological systems by using the SEA (Socioeconomic and Environmental Regressive Analysis) methodology. The research was conducted in a family unit located in the Paulo Fonteles Settlement in the Mosqueiro District - Belém of Pará. For the SEA methodology, the time interval of thirteen years, referring to the period 2006 and 2019, was used, taking into This is the period in which the Paulo Fonteles settlement was consolidated. The construction of the semi-structured questionnaire to assess the autonomy of the agroecological system aimed to collect the following information: water, soil fertility, food sovereignty, work (quantity of labor present in the area), productive technical knowledge and preparation of the area. To collect information regarding the responsiveness of the agroecological system, the following data were sought: plant stratification, pest incidence and yield. Each attribute was evaluated based on a score that had the following classification: 01 (very low); 02 (low); 03 (average); 04 (high) and 05 (very high), making a comparison between the two periods analyzed. The use of thematic maps proved the importance of these tools for a better understanding of the spatial organization of agroecological systems. Based on the results obtained by the SEA evaluation, a positive percentage growth (42.6%) was identified in the dimension ―agroecosystem autonomy‖, when considering the development of attributes, those that presented evolution were water, food sovereignty, productive technical knowledge. and area preparation, while the attributes production and labor decreased. For the dimension ―responsiveness of agroecosystem‖, it was observed that the system identified as agroforestry yard presented positive SEA index (66.7%) which corresponded to the improvement of the attributes related to the production, stratification, crop diversification and decrease in the incidence of pests. The system identified as monoculture of manioc tree showed a decrease in the SEA index (-20.0%), showing a decline in all attributes related to plant stratification production and crop diversification, in addition to increasing pest incidence. It is concluded that the best response to SEA analysis was obtained by the system called agroforestry yard and it is observed that the disparity in responses between the monoculture of macaxeira and the agroforestry yard is attributed by the characteristics linked to each system.
