Denotes bibliotherapy as a way to promote behavior change, aimed at better social adjustment of the autistic individual through self-knowledge provided by identification with the characters and reflection performed on the indicated texts. Use as a methodology, as well as bibliographic research, data collection through a questionnaire aimed at teachers of elementary school public school. It concludes that reading plays a fundamental and essential role in shaping the character, the socialization of the individual and his world view. Enfoca a biblioterapia como uma ferramenta coadjuvante no tratamento de pessoas que apresentam o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA), através da utilização da leitura de textos apropriados e indicados por um biblioterapêuta que, em vista do princípio da interdisciplinaridade da biblioterapia, trabalha em parceria com os profissionais de outras áreas dependendo da Instituição onde a mesma será implementada, sendo que no presente trabalho a interação ocorreu com duas professoras do ensino fundamental de escola pública que possuem em suas salas de aula alunos com autismo. Denota a biblioterapia como uma forma de promover a mudança do comportamento, visando o melhor ajustamento social do indivíduo autista através do autoconhecimento proporcionado pela identificação com os personagens e reflexão realizada sobre os textos indicados. Usa como metodologia, além de pesquisa bibliográfica, o levantamento de dados por meio da aplicação de questionário direcionado a professoras do ensino fundamental de escola pública.
