Thus, the objective of the present work is to show the characteristics of a wireless network and its IEEE 802.11 standards, approaching good practices for its implementation in a satisfactory way. In this sense, an existing wireless network will be analyzed by studying its characteristics, and its problems will be presented. For this, the methodology of the site survey will be used, which allows the inspection of a wireless network. The software used was the Ekahau HeatMapper, that after uploading the plant of the local, shows us where the access points are located, the areas with and without coverage, and various convenient informations to the deployment of the network. The detection of the signal and analysis of its loss, channel attenuations and channel superposition was performed by the software InSSIDer. Then, after these studies, a proposal for wireless network restructuring will be presented with the aim it has its best performance and better possible use by its users. Em um projeto de redes sem fio alguns fatores devem ser levados em consideração, como equipamentos que podem causar interferências, outras redes já existentes que podem competir com o canal da rede que irá ser implantado e posicionamentos dos pontos de acesso, a fim de assegurar uma cobertura satisfatória do sinal de radiofrequência. Desta forma, objetiva-se neste trabalho apresentar características de uma rede wireless e seus padrões IEEE 802.11, abordando boas práticas para que sua implantação ocorra de maneira satisfatória. Desta forma, será analisada uma rede sem fio já existente estudando suas características, e apresentando seus problemas. Para tal, será utilizada a metodologia do site survey que permite a realização de inspeção de uma rede sem fio. O software utilizado foi o Ekahau HeatMapper, que após o carregamento da planta do local nos mostra onde os pontos de acesso estão localizados, assim como áreas com e sem cobertura, e várias informações convenientes à implantação da rede. A detecção do sinal e análises de perda, atenuações e sobreposição de canal foi realizada pelo software InSSIDer.
