Based on the observation of 111 texts about quilombos and quilombolas from Pará, published between January and October 2018 in seven media outlets, this work presents a reflection on the issues most addressed by the media when it comes to quilombola communities. With this empirical research and semi-structured interviews with people related to the black and quilombola movement in Pará, sought to broaden the reflection on the subject and, at the end, to propose suggestions on how journalists can improve their approach on the theme and the quality of information disseminated in the media, in order to contribute to the effectiveness of the rights guaranteed to the quilombolas in Pará and Brazil. |
