This work aims to understand the process of constructing the feminine dimensions in the universe of ballroom dance genre, through a study of this language with some practitioners in the city of Belém do Pará. It is also intended to observe some female dimensions in the performances and in the different rhythms explored in ballroom dancing, besides making possible the use of the dance as a contribution, being an element for the studies of gender and its social representations. In order to analyze the present research object, a theoretical reference was adopted based on a collection of articles by several authors that celebrate the 200 years of ballroom dancing teaching in Brazil, also taking as groundwork authors like Hanna (1999), Gomes (2008), Zamoner (2011), Zaniboni (2007) and others, which allowed the construction of a social panorama of the female gender in the dance universe. In addition to these references, impressions of some subjects involved in this process were considered for the accomplishment of this study.
