It is also intended to observe some female dimensions in the performances and in the different rhythms explored in ballroom dancing, besides making possible the use of the dance as a contribution, being an element for the studies of gender and its social representations. In order to analyze the present research object, a theoretical reference was adopted based on a collection of articles by several authors that celebrate the 200 years of ballroom dancing teaching in Brazil, also taking as groundwork authors like Hanna (1999), Gomes (2008), Zamoner (2011), Zaniboni (2007) and others, which allowed the construction of a social panorama of the female gender in the dance universe. In addition to these references, impressions of some subjects involved in this process were considered for the accomplishment of this study. Este trabalho tem por objetivo compreender o processo de construção das dimensões femininas contidas no universo da Dança de Salão, por meio de um estudo desta linguagem com alguns praticantes na cidade de Belém do Pará. Pretende-se, ainda, observar algumas dimensões femininas contidas nas performances coreográficas dos diferentes ritmos explorados na Dança de Salão, além de possibilitar a utilização da própria dança como contribuição, sendo esta um elemento para os estudos de gênero e suas representações sociais. Para analisar o presente objeto de pesquisa, adotou-se um referencial teórico baseado em coletânea de artigos de diversos autores que comemoram os 200 anos de ensino de dança de salão no Brasil, tomando como base também os trabalhos de Hanna (1999), Gomes (2008), Zamoner (2011) e Zaniboni (2007) entre outros, os quais possibilitaram a construção de um panorama social do gênero feminino no universo da dança.
