The study aims to present a proposal to reform the metal bridge over the river Mojuzinho, so
that there is replacement of the current board, composed of metal plates, a reinforced concrete
slab, then properly paved, so there is a greater security daily flow to the road enjoying this
bridge. For analysis of the structure, presentation and subsequent improvement, we used the
software SAP 2000, so it was possible to model the structure and knowledge of the stresses
and loads acting on the structure, thus allowing the interpretation of results. After the
presentation of the proposed change in the constitution of the board, is expected to maintain
the original structure of steel and concrete. For this activity, there is the name of retrofit, the
English term which means modernization, an adaptation of old structures to new construction
techniques, new materials with improved performance, etc.. Besides the proposed retrofit has
also proposed to combat corrosion in existing parts of the metal structure, this corrosion is in
a worrying level, so that its progress leads to decrease of the cross section of parts, resulting in
loss of resistance of the same. |
