Labor gymnastics (LG) is a systematization of exercises in the workplace, during working hours is short, 5 to 15 minutes, is developed from the physical demands of work. It emerges as an efficient tool in the field of work, bringing numerous benefits to workers' health and to companies. Objective: To verify the effects of LG on employees of an electric transmission company in the city of Belém-PA. Materials and methods: This work is defined as descriptive in relation to the objectives and has as research procedure the survey, was developed in a company of electric transmission in Belém, in which was developed a program of LG since 2004, elaborated and applied by a physical education teacher. 50 employees were invited. As a criterion for inclusion in the survey the guests should be occupational gymnastics practitioners, however 37 participated in the data collection, 19 males (51.3%) and 18 females (48.6%). They answered a questionnaire that aimed to collect personal, functional and medical data, in order to obtain data on leaves, physical injuries, signs of pain and tiredness, data related to physical activity and leisure, results and changes after the implementation of LG. To determine the location and intensity of pain, Buckler's pain inventory was used. Results: According to the results obtained, the workers presented numerous benefits, especially in reducing fatigue, reducing stress, reducing body aches, improving mood, better integration with colleagues, increased willingness to work, increased productivity and better attention at work, it was also found that among sedentary people who practiced only LG also had improvements in the perception of the intensity of musculoskeletal pain, proved the low rate of absenteeism due to injuries and accidents at work among LG practitioners. Conclusion: The practice of LG in the researched company confirms the numerous benefits that the literature points out to us, employees reported improvements in the physical, psychological and social fields. The respondents had low rates of absences due to physical injury and work accidents, numbers that could be better if there were higher weekly frequency. It was concluded that there was a decrease in the intensity of musculoskeletal pain even among sedentary people who only experienced LG as physical activity.
