It presents a theoretical referential approach, based on information literacy studies and the school library, thus being a research of practices with emphasis on the educational role of libraries and librarians, based on the studies of several authors Researches. We sought to understand the concept of Information Competence from its earliest days and the School Library and the efforts to broaden its role within educational institutions. The need for a new educational paradigm vis-a-vis the current society and the informational explosion is evidenced. It seeks to address the nature of the librarian's work in the face of so many changes. In this sense, this study, observed the importance of the existence of school libraries, with professionals capable of making changes in relation to educational activities focused on informational competence, thus developing educational activities, through mediation of information, from their educational policies, practices Curricula and teaching methods. |
