This paper demonstrates the development of a project to upgrade the industrial automation system conducted at a quartz processing plant which belongs to a large company in the surroundings of the Tucuruí hydroelectric power plant lake, in state of Pará. This project includes the replacement of control equipment (PLC), replacement of user interface and development of a SCADA system, replacement of electric cables and modifications to the layout of the plant’s control room. This paper is focused in the automation team's activities, for instance on hardware specification, development of PLC program and development of the human-machine interface (SCADA). |
