Resumo:
This work presents a case study that was implemented a pressure oversight-river system water in the spiral case and penstock of a hydraulic generating unit. This monitoring system is aimed at safe operation of the opening operation of the gate water intake, which is the initial move to establish the condition “ready to go” generating unit. The existing problem is that to perform the opening operation is paramount to this pressure information in the spiral casing which was obtained by means of an analog measuring instrument (gauge), which was located far from the opening panel of the gate, becoming thus required the presence of another opera-tor in this place to pass on the information arising from the instrumentation thus gives the safe end of the maneuver. In order to remedy these difficulties in the supervision of pressure val-ues was carried out the implementation of an automation system that displays to the operator behaves in the drive panel, pressure values in real time, making the most secure and efficient maneuver. For its implementation were mainly used industrial pressure transmitters, pro-grammable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMI's), being exposed a basic description and operation of such equipment.
