The use of ceramic coatings on facades, especially in public works, is specifically due to the fact that this material provides a wide variety of models and high durability, guaranteeing for a building an improvement in the aesthetics, protection and regularization of the surface of the elements of seal. However, the lack of planning, poor execution and lack of maintenance of this material allows the emergence of pathological manifestations and, consequently, generates fear and social dissatisfaction. In this perspective, through the present research, an analysis was carried out of the pathological manifestations of greater incidence in the facade cladding of the "Menino Deus" day care center, a building inaugurated in 2012 through technical and financial assistance from the FNDE (National Health Fund). Education Development) located in the municipality of Tucuruí-PA. Therefore, it was attested through the statistical research methodology proposed by Silva (2014), the most accentuated damage factors in the building during the degradation process, as well as the test to determine the adhesion resistance of ceramic coatings with plates laid with adhesive mortar in accordance with ABNT NBR
13755:2017. Through the results obtained from the calculations of damage factors, it was possible to verify that 76% of the damages come from the cracks, while 24% are from the ceramic detachments, such data warns that these damages may still be on the rise in this building. On the other hand, the results obtained at rupture through the adhesion test in this study showed an average tension of 0.148 MPa, characterizing the entire mortar set as “failed”, due to the low adhesion resistance on the external walls. It is, therefore, one of the factors of detachment of the SRC (Ceramic Coating System). This becomes an aggravating factor because it jeopardizes the safety of students and staff who make use of the building. In view of the above, the proposition isthe need for a total restructuring of this coating. As a way of recovering the aesthetics and comfort of this community space, the research suggested a renovation of the place, replacing the existing ceramic coating with painting, demonstrating the synthetic budget that makes the execution of this service financially viable. |
