Resumo:
It seeks to understand in which situations the professional librarian can receive the hazard pay; it aims to identify which work environments this professional will develop their activities and associate with harmful agents in accordance with current Brazilian legislation. The applied methodology was based on methods such as the nature of the research, characterized as applied since it aims to bring forth knowledge, how to approach the problem in a qualitative way, to the objective as an exploratory research, to the methods in which the method was chosen in the form of deductive approach and the method related to the procedures from which the observational and historical method was chosen, a bibliographic and documentary research were used on the technical procedure and due to the methodological course the instruments used were the data bases in order to collect material such as articles, books, dissertations, etc. As a result of the discussion, it was observed the occurrence of changes in the work environment of this professional over the years, it was also possible to notice that these environments modified or adapted to the new technologies and lead the librarian to develop other activities and in others places and that the perception of hazard pay will depend on the conditions of the work environment, the agents and to what extent of intensity or concentration of exposure.
