In this sense, methodologically, field research is used and as a data collection technique, the application of interviews with residents of the community, in addition to the contributions of authors such as: Marengo (2018) Souza (2016) and Cymerys (2015). With the information obtained, it was verified from the reports that the fruit has already been widely used in food and as a guarantee of income for the residents, however, currently, there is great difficulty in obtaining the pulp of the fruit, as it is not available. maturing properly. O presente trabalho apresenta resultados de uma pesquisa desenvolvida na Comunidade Campompema (ilhas de Abaetetuba-PA), a qual objetiva investigar a importância e os conhecimentos acerca do fruto do miriti (Mauritia flexuosa), além de investigar o que causa o não amadurecimento do fruto, sendo que a polpa do miriti é utilizada para a alimentação da população local, principalmente para fazer mingau. Nesse sentido, utiliza-se metodologicamente a pesquisa de campo e como técnica de coleta de dados, a aplicação de entrevistas com moradores da comunidade, somadas as contribuições de autores como: Marengo (2018) Souza(2016) e Cymerys (2015).
