Resumo:
There are few studies about obesity that relate eating behavior and emotional factors during the pandemic of COVID-19. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze eating habits and emotional aspects in obese people during the pandemic period. A literature review was carried out, whose objectives were to evaluate if during the pandemic there were alterations in the eating habits, in the intensification or development of emotional aspects, and if they influenced the changes in these habits. The methodology used to compose the work was the inclusion of articles published from January to June 2022, in the CAPES Portal de Periódicos, PubMed and Scientific Library Online (SciELO) databases, using the descriptors: obesity, COVID-19, eating behavior, emotional aspects and mental health, written in Portuguese and English. The inclusion criteria included studies related to COVID-19, eating habits and emotional aspects in obese patients, while the exclusion criteria were studies with children, adolescents and the elderly, those that did not fit the objectives and duplicates. Thus, a total of 67 articles were collected, 17 of which were selected for reading, based on the pre-established criteria, and after a detailed analysis, 7 were excluded for not meeting any of the required criteria. In the end, 10 articles written in Portuguese and English were selected. It was recognized by the literature that people with obesity were harmed with the consequences of the pandemic, since, it implied the change of unhealthy eating habits as well as change of lifestyle, in addition, caused the development and intensified the emotional factors, of which also affected the food becoming poor in nutrients and interfering in weight gain.
