It is advocated in favor of an early teaching of literature, with a view to a better apprehension of literary concepts by public school learners. In a first moment, the theories used will be presented and, in the sequence, the presentation of the corpus that will support the research, having as theoretical support thoughts of scholars who deal with this theme. It has to be added that the investigations of these practices are necessary, to understand how the techniques of teaching literature are given, since the teacher's support is the textbook. that literature be encouraged at school. O presente trabalho busca fazer uma pesquisa qualitativa acerca do ensino da literatura no livro didático, visando mostrar como está sendo trabalhado o texto literário nos manuais didáticos e como esse ensino é desenvolvido na sala de aula pelos professores, com base na visão dos pressupostos teóricos selecionados para este trabalho. Advoga-se em favor de um ensino precoce da literatura, tendo em vista uma melhor apreensão de conceitos literários por parte de aprendentes de escola pública. Em um primeiro momento, serão apresentadas as teorias utilizadas e, na sequência a apresentação do corpus que dará sustentação à pesquisa,tendo como suporte teórico pensamentos de estudiosos que tratam desta temática.
