The social assistance policy has its historical trajectory marked by several advances and setbacks, which reflect the structural changes of capitalist society, its institutionalization in Brazil was given by legal mechanisms, among them, the Single System of Social Assistance (SUAS) in 2005, which has organized social protection levels, such as basic social protection, which is the responsibility of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS), which provides social assistance services and benefits. The research approach was qualitative, and for the understanding of this work, bibliographical surveys, documentary researches and field research were done, and for the latter, we used a semi-structured interview, applied with 03 family members of the beneficiaries in the localities Rio Costa Sirituba and Rio Urubueua Cabeceira, to maintain confidentiality, families were identified with fictional regional names such as the Açaí, Farinha and Peixe family. The reality of the riverside life makes it difficult for the users and their families to access their social policies, being dependent on the tidal dynamics characteristic of the Amazonian factor, so it is necessary to take into account the specificities and singularity of the region for the planning of the social assistance policy. It was verified that the income obtained through the BPC of the disabled person (PCB / PCD) contributes to the subsistence of the 03 families of the beneficiaries, even though the research shows that it still does not promote the autonomy of its beneficiaries and their relatives. Thus, BPC / PCD provides an income that minimally improves the living conditions of beneficiaries, but this situation does not extend to families, denying social rights that are necessary for the citizenship condition of the subjects. The BPC / PCD is a non-contributory benefit, and aims at the autonomy of the beneficiaries, it occurs that the neoliberal model impute requirements for the granting of these rights, such as per capita income, that makes this autonomy unfeasible. This contradiction generates more social inequalities and the need to rethink social policy, since it is constantly under construction and changes. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a contribuição do Benefício da Prestação Continuada (BPC) na melhoria das condições de vida das famílias dos beneficiários atendidas/acompanhadas no CRAS Ribeirinho Pólo 04 no município de Abaetetuba-Pá, a cidade está localizada na região do Baixo Tocantins. A política de assistência social tem seu percurso histórico marcado por diversos avanços e retrocessos, que refletem as mudanças estruturais da sociedade capitalista, sua institucionalização no Brasil se deu por mecanismos legais, dentre eles, o Sistema Único de Assistência Social (SUAS) em 2005, marco histórico, que organizou os níveis de proteção social, como a proteção social básica, de responsabilidade do Centro de Referencia de Assistência Social (CRAS) que oferta serviços e benefícios socioassistenciais. A abordagem da pesquisa foi de cunho qualitativo, e para a compreensão desse trabalho foram feitos, levantamentos bibliográficos, pesquisas documentais e a pesquisa de campo, sendo que para a realização desta ultima, utilizamos uma entrevista semiestruturada, aplicada com 03 familiares dos beneficiários nas localidades Rio Costa Sirituba e Rio Urubueua Cabeceira, para manter o sigilo, as famílias foram identificadas com nomes fictícios regionais como família Açaí, Farinha e Peixe. A realidade da vida ribeirinha dificulta o acesso dos usuários e seus familiares as politicas socias, ficando dependentes das dinâmicas de marés características do fator amazônico, portanto é necessário levar em consideração as especificidades e singularidade da região para o planejamento da política de assistência social. Constatou-se que a renda obtida por meio do BPC da pessoa com deficiência (BPC/PCD) contribui para a subsistência das 03 famílias dos beneficiários, muito embora a pesquisa venha demonstrar que ele ainda não promove a autonomia de seus beneficiários e de seus familiares. Deste modo, o BPC/PCD proporciona uma renda que possibilita minimamente a melhoria das condições de vida dos beneficiários, todavia essa situação não se expande para as famílias, negando direitos sociais que são necessárias para a condição de cidadania dos sujeitos. O BPC/PCD é um benefício de caráter não contributivo, e visa à autonomia dos beneficiários, ocorre que o modelo neoliberal imputa requisitos para a concessão desses direitos, como a renda per capta, que inviabiliza essa autonomia.
