To be able to form child reader is necessary that it has significant experience with the reading that should not occur under compulsion, but it is presented in a pleasant way , arousing the interest and pleasure in the subject reading , doing with that this dialogue with the text . In elementary school we can not lose focus of making kids readers because reading should be inserted in the child's life from his childhood through family and be continued in school . Thus, the school becomes one of the leading institutions promoting the encounter between the child and reading , literature and the work of Monteiro Lobato . Form reader should be one of the main prerogatives of the elementary schools , so this research investigated how is this training in relation to the works of Monteiro Lobato . This is a survey of theoretical and practical basis , seeking authors that support the theoretical discussion based on the reading and educating readers in school and in life, especially in relation to Lobato works for children . The literature works on the written language , this is depending on the reading ability of students , assuming they have passed the school institution . Thus begins the connection between literature and education, literature and the point of attachment between the child and the school and society that will promote and foster conditions to realize the circulation of literature , with the appreciation of education and school, evidencing the importance of the habit of reading for the training of citizens . With that intellectuals , journalists and teachers begin to produce books for the strengthening of a modern Brazil . A leitura é um elemento fundamental para que o sujeito construa seu conhecimento, dando ênfase a sua curiosidade, fornecendo-lhes novas experiências para seu amadurecimento psicológico. Para que se possa formar criança leitora é necessário que ela tenha uma experiência significativa com a leitura que não deve ocorrer por obrigação, mas que seja apresentada de forma prazerosa, despertando-se o interesse e o prazer no sujeito que lê, fazendo-se com que este dialogue com o texto. No ensino fundamental não podemos perder o foco de tornar as crianças leitoras, pois a leitura deve estar inserida na vida da criança desde a sua infância através da família e ser continuada na escola. Assim, a escola torna-se uma das principais instituições a promover esse encontro entre a criança e a leitura, a literatura e a obra de Monteiro Lobato. Formar leitor deve ser uma das principais prerrogativas das escolas de ensino fundamental, portanto nessa pesquisa investigamos como se dá essa formação em relação às obras de Monteiro Lobato. Trata-se de uma pesquisa com base teórica e pratica, buscando-se autores que fundamentem a discussão teórica com base na leitura e formação de leitores na escola e na vida, principalmente em relação às obras de Lobato destinadas às crianças. A literatura trabalha sobre a língua escrita, esta fica dependendo da capacidade de leitura dos alunos, supondo-se que estes tenham passado pela instituição escolar. Desse modo, começa a ligação entre literatura e escola, a literatura sendo o ponto de ligação entre a criança e a sociedade e a escola, que vai promover e estimular condições de realizar a circulação da literatura, com a valorização da instrução e da escola, ficando evidente a importância do hábito de ler para a formação do cidadão.
