This essay is a course completion project in the form of an academic portfolio. The studies
presented here come from the analysis of curricular components of the lincentiate in mathe matics program. In this way, the studies were produced according to the natural progression
of the content and the resulting desire to apply the ideas presented during in-class discus sions. Two out of the three papers were published at events held in Castanhal – Pa. The
first one was presented at the IV SIEPEX (Teaching, Research and Extension Symposium)
and the second at the III SAMATC (Castanhal Mathematics Academic Week). The third
one was submitted for presentation at the XL CNMAC (National Congress of Computatio nal and applied Mathematics). The first is about a codification proposal and discussion of
the Taylor polynomial, a powerful mathematical tool for approximating relatively complex
functions into polynomial ones, the second is a study and reflection on the use of techniques
for solving linear systems of more than 3 equations, using Sympy - a Python programming
language package - to solve the systems in symbolic form, which gives the student a greater
perspective on the applicability of mathematical problems in real life. Finally, the third one
is a modelling proposal of heat distribution over a 2D plate using cellular automata. |
