This research shows how thematic cultural policies for the dance, emphasizing Award Funarte Klauss Vianna as a source of research to analyze how this has affected the choreographic production in Belém do Pará assume that initiatives like this can generate many benefits for dance artists. From document analysis and interviews with local artists and groups, I investigate the importance of cultural policies, how they can transform the artistic medium and, through them, we can see a considerable growth and development in the city's artistic productions. Brant use to introduce the concept of cultural policies, Edgar Morin and UNESCO with the concept of culture, among others, as Marilena Chauí, underlying the literature on cultural policies in Brazil. Finally, the research confirmed that these awards bring benefits to local companies since they encourage and provide financially performing spectacles, maintenance companies, among others, promoting and contributing to greater production and dissemination of dance in the artistic and cultural city.
