At the same time, is a training strategy for students in health science courses. The main aim of this study was to investigate the scientific communication’ contributions for professional education in health sciences and population’ science literacy. This is a qualitative study, based on a narrative approach. Banners and experiments were used as motivators for the discussion and Neurosciences’ concept explanations and demystification of neuromyths. People of all ages and social classes who were at the university were welcome to participated. Based on the discursive textual analysis, the categories were analyzed: i) Critical and reflective positioning; ii) motivated personal experiences; iii) reflections on habits and potential changes; iv) collaborative and integrative personal and professional learning. We concluded that scientific communication was effective to clarified neuromyths, improve autonomy and adherence on healthy lifestyle, as well as for the academic and professional education of the students involved. A divulgação científica é uma estratégia didática e acessível para levar o conhecimento científico à população e promover o letramento científico como ferramenta de inclusão social. Ao mesmo tempo, configura-se como estratégia de formação profissional dos estudantes de cursos da área da saúde. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar que contribuições ações de divulgação científica em Neurociências trazem para a formação acadêmica de estudantes da área da saúde e para o letramento científico da população alvo. O presente é um estudo qualitativo, de abordagem narrativa e apresenta pesquisa e reflexão sobre a própria prática dos autores em ações de divulgação científica e educação em saúde. Foram usados banners e realizados experimentos como motivadores para as discussões de esclarecimentos de conceitos em Neurociências e desmistificação de neuromitos. Participaram pessoas de todas as idades e classes sociais que transitavam pela universidade. Com base na análise textual discursiva analisou-se as categorias: i) Posicionamento crítico e reflexivo; ii) experiências pessoais motivadoras; iii) reflexões sobre hábitos e mudanças potenciais; iv) aprendizado pessoal e profissional colaborativo e integrativo. Conclui-se que, por meio da divulgação científica, houve o esclarecimento neuromitos, auxiliando no desenvolvimento de autonomia para a realização de hábitos de vida saudáveis, e desmistificação de mitos e tabus referentes à ciência, assim como registra-se a contribuição da ação de educação em saúde para a formação acadêmica dos estudantes envolvidos BENTO-TORRES NETO, João.
