Resumo:
Cystitis are the diseases that most affect the lower urinary tract of cats, they may have several causes, known or not, which may hinder the diagnosis. They usually present the same clinical signs of urination disorders with or without urethral obstruction, so they often end up receiving the same symptomatic treatment. The objective of this study is to report a case of a patient who had urethral obstruction, followed up during the mandatory supervised stage. Considering the clinical signs observed and the analyses of their examinations, the patient presented systemic complications resulting from obstruction in the urethra lumen, with the presence of bacterial cystitis and hematuria. This condition with urine retention lasted long enough to generate systemic complications, which generated an acute condition of renal failure, with an unfavorable prognosis, and then the patient was euthanized Keywords: feline idiopathic cystitis, bacterial cystitis, obstructive cystitis, acute kidney injury, euthanasia
