Resumo:
Dermatophytosis are skin diseases characterized by being a superficial infection caused mainly by fungi of the genera Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum and Nannizzia. These diseases can affect canines and felines, also having a zoonotic potential. Due to the different pharmaceutical presentations of antifungal compounds present on the market and their easy access, indiscriminate use occurs, promoting resistance to the main drugs used. Due to unresponsive therapy and high rates of refractory cases, the costs and duration of treatments increase. In the search for effective treatments, the discovery of new natural products is essential, for this it is possible to study microorganisms, since these are a source of secondary metabolites that may allow the finding of these natural products with antifungal action capable of overcoming resistance mechanisms, resulting in an alternative and less aggressive form of treatment.
