In today's globalized scenario, pursuing excellence in maintenance management is crucial for
companies to maintain their competitiveness in the international market. With the advent of Industry 4.0, the
concept of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) emerges, focusing on waste elimination and continuous
improvement in efficiency through technical and managerial pillars. In this context, Maintenance Planning and
Control (PCM) plays a crucial role in developing plans and policies to ensure the effectiveness of maintenance
processes. This article underscores the importance of PCM as an essential facilitator to achieve and maintain
the excellence standards required by WCM through the implementation project of the Professional
Maintenance Pillar in a white goods industry located in the industrial hub of Manaus, Brazil. As a result of
restructuring efforts, including the establishment of indicators, improved data control, and enhanced service
efficiency, there was a significant reduction in lost products from 39,903 units in 2020 to 20,962 units in 2021,
along with a decrease in equipment downtime from 1.63% to 0.73%. |
