Law 11,947, dated June 16, 2009, establishes that at least 30% (percent) of the amount passed on to the State, Municipalities and Federal District by the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE) for the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) ) must be used for the purchase of foodstuffs from family farming. Thus, this public policy aims to ensure that schools have a healthier and better quality of food. However, it is necessary to understand how this policy has become effective in school everyday. To do so, this descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, was based on the case study, whose data collection techniques were 09 semi-structured interviews with different actors: family farmer, School Manager, School Lunch Coordination of the Municipal Department of Education (SEMED) ), The Standing Committee on Municipal Bidding (CPL), the Rural Workers' Union of Tabatinga-Am (STTR) and the Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Development of the State of Amazonas (IDAM). The main results found are that there are differences between the difficulties claimed by family farmers and the actions carried out by public agencies. Esta pesquisa teve como o principal objetivo analisar a implantação do Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar em escolas municipais de Tabatinga-AM na percepção dos atores envolvidos. A Lei 11.947, de 16 de junho de 2009, determina que no mínimo 30% (por cento) do valor repassado aos Estados, Municípios e Distrito Federal pelo Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento da Educação (FNDE) para o Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar (PNAE) deve ser utilizado obrigatoriamente na compra de gêneros alimentícios provenientes da agricultura familiar. Assim, essa política pública pretende garantir que as escolas tenham uma alimentação mais saudável e de qualidade. Contudo, se faz necessário compreender como essa política tem se efetivado no cotidiano escolar. Para tanto, esta pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, valeu-se do estudo de campo, cujas técnicas de coleta de dados foram 09 entrevistas não estruturada com diferentes atores: agricultor familiar, Gestor Escolar, Coordenação da Merenda Escolar da Secretaria Municipal de Educação (SEMED), Comissão Permanente de Licitação Municipal (CPL), Sindicado dos Trabalhadores Rurais de Tabatinga-Am (STTR) e Instituto do Desenvolvimento Agropecuário e Florestal Sustentável do Estado do Amazonas (IDAM).
