Resumo:
Water is an essential resource for human life, once considered as an infinite resource, this concept has been gradually changing over the years, mainly due to population growth. Currently, sustainability actions are encouraged to minimize possible impacts on their quality and quantity. The water collected from air conditioners is a sustainable option, which aims to use them for non-potable purposes. The objective of this work was to analyze the water quality of five 30000 BTU/h air conditioning units located at the Institute of Agriculture and Environment Education, analyzing pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, total dissolved solids, chlorine, hardness, alkalinity and phosphorus and quantify the condensed value of this resource seeking to reconcile with non-potable activities and offer an option of reuse in activities done at the university. The value generated in five conditioners has an average of approximately 100 L/day of water, this shows us that projects can be developed for the reuse of this resource for the laundering application of toilets bathrooms and classrooms besides the use in the boxes of discharges of the bathroom and to enjoy this water for activities developed as irrigation of gardens and and seedlings of research activities of the academics of the institute that has its plantations in the greenhouse.
