As a way of understanding the changes that occurred in Amazonas during the pandemic, this report presents studies from different research fields. The first analysis reveals that the dynamics of river transport is capable of explaining the spread of the virus in the cities. The historic drop in fuel sales was verified using data from the ANP, a sensitive indicator of the impact on the regional economy. The research developed by UEA diagnoses that in Manaus trade, 85% of the companies were totally or partially paralyzed. The international airport register a 91.7% reduction in passengers in April. The reduction in consumption resulted in 11.3% less household waste, according to data from Semulsp. Finally, an analysis of the air in the capital, concludes that, after the adoption of the isolation measures, there was a great decrease in the amount of particulate material harmful to health present in the atmosphere. |
