This work has as general objective to carry out a systematic review of a critical form on the works carried out on thermal comfort and discomfort in the North Region of Brazil, and as specific: to point out issues regarding thermal comfort and discomfort from some authors; reflect on the influences and implications of thermal comfort and discomfort in closed environments; discuss the importance of environmental comfort for learning and the consequences of discomfort for this process; discuss the works produced on thermal comfort and discomfort in the Amazon region. In that sense, so that such objectives were reached. Thus, it was discussed about thermal comfort and discomfort, its influences and implications in work environments and in the individual's life. It was found that the thermal discomfort present in closed spaces implies human behavior, influences living together and the relationship with the workplace and also in the learning process.
