The expanding city generates isolated territorial fragments lacking a good urban infrastructure. At the northern end of the urban area of Manaus, at the end of Avenida Torquato Tapajós, there is a small community, popularly called “Comunidade União da Vitória”, whose expansion limit is the Igarapé Ponte Bolivia.
This work starts from reflections on urbanization resulting from the processes of expansion and occupation of urban edges, the impact caused by inequality in urban land occupation and the exclusion of populations residing on the outskirts of the city from community urban facilities, resulting in the deprivation of basic rights to life, including the right to public space, urban leisure, and community living.
The intervention aims to design a system of open community spaces, as elements of landscape reconfiguration, proposing democratic spaces that meet the needs of urban life and promote a better quality of life for the population.
