As for the methodology, the research assumed the perspective of a qualitative approach, without excluding quantitative aspects, under the guidance of the historical-critical method. It was found that current statistics on this topic lead us to understand that this phenomenon continues to occur on a large scale, even after all social advances. Due to the culture of patriarchy, differences between men and women are perpetuated in our society, with male force and domination being tolerated, which contributes to the trivialization of violence. Data referring to domestic violence and also to sexual violence reveal that the period of social isolation, due to COVID-19, may have contributed to more cases, however, due to mobility restrictions and the reduction of mobility protection and support services for women, there has been underreporting. From the data obtained, it is concluded that it is up to the Government to promote preventive actions and to combat domestic violence, bringing to the public debate respect for human dignity and equality between the sexes. In addition, it is necessary to increase the number of professionals who work in services aimed at assisting victims of domestic violence, as well as investing in training, so that they are able to adequately meet the demands of this public. O Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso trata do aumento dos casos de violência contra as mulheres, especialmente, a sexual, durante a pandemia. Quanto à metodologia, a pesquisa assumiu a perspectiva da abordagem qualitativa, sem exclusão dos aspectos quantitativos, sob a orientação do método histórico-crítico. Verificou-se que as atuais estatísticas a respeito desse tema nos leva a compreender que esse fenômeno continua ocorrendo em grande escala, mesmo após todos os avanços sociais. Devido à cultura do patriarcado, as diferenças entre homens e mulheres se perpetuam em nossa sociedade, sendo tolerada a força e a dominação masculina, o que contribui para que a violência seja banalizada. Os dados referentes à violência doméstica e, também, à violência sexual, revelam que o período de isolamento social, em razão da COVID-19, pode ter contribuído para que mais casos ocorressem, no entanto, devido às restrições de mobilidade e à redução de serviços de proteção e apoio às mulheres, tenha havido subnotificação. Pelos dados obtidos, conclui-se que cabe ao Governo promover ações preventivas e de combate à violência doméstica, trazendo para o debate público o respeito à dignidade da pessoa humana e à igualdade entre os sexos.
