This study aims to compare the financial viability of dragon fruit cultivation (Hylocereus
polyrhizus) with the financial viability of cupuaçu cultivation in the state of Amazonas.
Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a traditional fruit in the state of Amazonas, a food that
has been consumed for years by the local population. more and more space in the diet of the
Amazonian. As for the methodological processes, the research used the cost-benefit analysis
(CBA) to financially evaluate the investment alternatives. A sensitivity analysis of the financial
indicators NPV (net present value), B/C (benefit-cost ratio) and IRR (internal rate of return) of
each project is also carried out, making it possible to demonstrate how the respective cultures
would fare financially with the possible scenarios that they may face, and after analyzing the
results, it can be concluded that dragon fruit cultivation presented a much better financial
performance than cupuaçu cultivation. |
