Thus, the present study seeks to expand the debate around the social reality faced by mothers of children with disabilities. In addition, it contributes to ensuring that social policies are actually implemented, in terms of knowledge about the realities of mothers of children with disabilities who seek to access the social protection of the Social Assistance policy. In this sense, it is essential that the Social Worker knows the reality experienced by service users, so that it is possible to build strategies together with them to face difficulties in accessing social rights. To this end, the qualitative approach was used as a research method and as a methodology for data collection, we carried out interviews with a semi-structured script with the 4 assistants who work at CRAS União in Parintins-AM. Based on the data presented, we can understand that solo and atypical mothers experience challenging experiences in their daily lives, requiring the implementation of support programs and groups. Analyzing the professional work carried out, the strategies used by social workers at CRAS União are based on defending and guaranteeing rights, to ensure that public policies are implemented and provide better conditions and quality of service for those who need it. Este estudo objetivou compreender os desafios enfrentados por mães solo, consideradas atípicas, mães de crianças com deficiência, no acesso aos serviços oferecidos pelo CRAS União em Parintins-AM e as estratégias desenvolvidas pelo assistente social na viabilização do atendimento qualificado, bem como, identificar e descrever as experiências com o intuito de aprofundar os conhecimentos adquiridos a respeito do trabalho do Serviço Social junto a esta temática. Assim, o presente estudo busca ampliar o debate em torno da realidade social enfrentada por mães de filhos/as com deficiência. Além, de contribuir para que as políticas sociais sejam de fato efetivadas, no que tange ao conhecimento sobre a realidades das mães de filhos com deficiências que buscam acessar a proteção social da política de Assistência Social. Nesse sentido, é imprescindível que o Assistente Social conheça a realidade vivenciada pelos usuários do serviço, de forma que seja possível construir junto com eles/elas estratégias para o enfrentamento das dificuldades no acesso aos direitos sociais. Para tanto, utilizou-se como método da pesquisa a abordagem qualitativa e como metodologia para coleta de dados realizamos entrevistas com roteiro semiestruturado com as 4 assistentes que atuam no CRAS União em Parintins-AM. Com base nos dados apresentados, podemos compreender que as mães solos e atípicas vivenciam experiências desafiadoras em seu cotidiano, é necessário a implantação de programas e grupos de apoio.
