Resumo:
Hydrocarbons are one of the contents studied in Organic Chemistry in High School. This content enables the use of molecular models in your approach, which are three-dimensional representations (physical or virtual), which allow a better structural understanding of the molecules of a chemical compound. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the learning developed by third year high school students, from a public school in the municipality of Itacoatiara in Amazonas, through the use of molecular models in the Hydrocarbons approach. The research began in July 2023 and was divided into three moments: in the first moment there were 3 (three) meetings with students, in the second moment we sought to analyze the data collected and finally, organize the text of the article to a better understanding of the study. The results indicate that students had difficulties in understanding the study of hydrocarbons, especially with regard to the nomenclature of structures. The data shows that after the dialogued expository class and contact with physical molecular models, the groups had an easier time understanding the content, as everyone got the structural and molecular formula of the hydrocarbon correct during the applied activity. This work did not intend to exhaust the topic in question, on the contrary, it presented a general overview of important aspects related to the teaching of organic chemistry, specifically about hydrocarbons and their possible approaches in High School.
