Resumo:
Fire safety is a crucial concern in Civil Engineering, being necessary for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Risk isolation is one of the aspects analyzed, potentially offering an effective and safe alternative for fire prevention and control in buildings. For this analysis, the legislation covering fire prevention and control in the State of Amazonas is the State Decree No. 24.054, dated March 1, 2004, along with the Technical Standards and Technical Instructions of the Amazonas State Fire Department. Additionally, a practical case study was conducted that implements the regulations and applies risk isolation in a real-world context, indicating the segmentation of areas within a building through physical barriers and compartmentalization systems to prevent fire spread. The main objective of the study was to develop a fire prevention and control project, considering risk isolation between buildings, and to analyze its technical feasibility. The methodology included the analysis of separation between buildings, with the practical application of risk isolation in a commercial building divided into two blocks. The results and discussions demonstrate that risk isolation, when correctly planned and implemented, can be an effective strategy for fire prevention and control, offering security equivalent to or superior to traditional methods. Thus, based on technical and regulatory criteria, it was possible to attest to the effectiveness of risk isolation, considering a safe distance between buildings to prevent fire spread between structures. Therefore, risk isolation presents itself as a viable safety measure, contributing to the safety of buildings and the protection of lives and properties.
