This thesis proposes the design of a housing complex employing construction techniques with a high cost-benefit ratio, compatible with the humid equatorial climate, and aimed at providing shelter for low-income and socially vulnerable individuals in the metropolitan region of Manaus. The Amazonian climate is characterized by high temperatures, elevated humidity, and intense rainfall; therefore, the construction of social housing in this region faces specific challenges, such as the need for adequate ventilation, protection against solar radiation, and the use of materials resistant to deterioration. The low-income population, which relies on Social Interest Housing projects, is particularly vulnerable to adverse climatic conditions, facing issues related to health, thermal comfort, and safety. The project seeks to mitigate the problems related to social housing through the benefits of modular architecture, making the housing units accessible, adaptable to various uses, efficient in terms of time, cost, and environmental performance, and replicable in various spaces. |
