The purpose of this study is to discuss the concepts of anxiety in childhood. From a young age, it is natural to feel anxiety about some event in life, when the emotion reaction becomes continuous and exacerbated, anxiety disorder develops. The methodology adopted is qualitative in nature, a case study was used, the research object took place in a school located in the peripheral area of the municipality of Parintins/Amazonas through the participation of teachers in action, the collection instrument was the interview by agenda, totaling the participation of five teachers. During the development of the research, in basic education (elementary school I) observation of daily school life was carried out, allowing the researcher to collect data and information related to the research. Data analysis showed that the subject is still little discussed in the field of pedagogy, educators are unaware of the definitions and theorists who address anxiety. Despite this, the teachers interviewed raised different conceptions about the disorder related to their teaching practice, in this sense, it is evident from the interviewees' speech that anxiety in children can cause difficulties in learning as well as harm to social relationships. Thus, considering the importance of socio-emotional education in the classroom, there are several strategies that teachers can adopt for their reality, developing understanding and recognition of emotions. |
