Resumo:
The discussion on income inequality has permeated the academic landscape for quite some time, spanning from developed nations to those in development. However, certain regions, such as northern Brazil, lack adequate attention to these issues. This project aims to analyze the impacts generated by the COVID-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2021 on access to remote education offered by the Federal University of Amazonas. This analysis is based on data provided by the questionnaire administered to faculty members. The adopted methodological approach is descriptive and analytical, utilizing data available through the questionnaire. Regarding income inequality, it will be measured by the Gini Index, reflecting the degree of income concentration among the poorest and wealthiest strata. The results led to the conclusion that inequality directly affected students, both in terms of income and social status.
