Resumo:
This monograph explores income inequality in Brazil during the period from 1991 to 2010, paying special attention to regional differences and the contribution of the richest to the phenomenon. The analysis reveals significant fluctuations in inequality during this period, highlighting the complexity of the country's socioeconomic situation. An important finding is that wealthy individuals played a significant role in worsening income inequality in Brazil. It was found that the highest rate of income inequality is present in the northern region of Brazil and it was observed that income inequality decreased in Brazil in the 2000s.This research sheds light on the complex dynamics that perpetuate income inequality in Brazil.
