Resumo:
The research is based on the tensions, difficulties and challenges of professionals who teach Art without specific training and seeks to highlight the needs of this professional profile working in the classroom in the context of Basic and Public Education. The research is based on theoretical references, books and articles published on the Teaching of Art in Brazil and its History, in dialogue with the field study carried out through interviews with the teacher, manager and students, from a school in the rural area of Municipality of Parintins, Lower Amazonas. The objective of the research is to analyze how content and methodologies relating to the Art curricular component are conducted by professionals without specific training in the area and what challenges and difficulties they face. This research also aims to discover, understand and present which factors cause a very high rate of lack of art teachers with specific training in the area working in the classroom in schools in rural areas. Bearing in mind that this is a reality that has been going on for years in the basic education network also in the urban areas of Parintins. Therefore, the need to be in the field to dialogue with educators and students and investigate a school that served as a reference for the reflections presented. The investigation was supported by specific theoretical references from the field of arts education, with the analysis of documents that guide Basic Education in Brazil and was developed as field research carried out at the Luiz Gonzaga Municipal School, located in the Santo Antônio Community - Region of the Tracajá River.
