ABSTRACT
The drawing is a fundamental artistic manifestation for the integral development of the child, where it manages to externalize its visions of the world, expanding its imaginary, its feelings and perceptions. This research aims to: investigate how the reading of artistic works through drawing contributes to the teaching of Arts and to the student's learning of a public elementary school in the municipality of Parintins-AM. The methodology used has a qualitative research approach. As for the type, it is characterized as exploratory, being supported by bibliographic research, field research, participatory research and case study. The subjects involved in this study were 11 students from a 5th grade class of Elementary School I and an Arts teacher. The results obtained reveal the existence of traditional methodologies, focused on a technicist approach, being the practice of printed design. This activity does not correspond to the bimonthly plan for teaching Arts proposed by the aforementioned school investigated, indicating that curricular guidelines still face a fragmented and decontextualized teaching of Arts. Therefore, it is concluded that although the teaching of Arts has conquered its space in Brazilian education, its importance being recognized for social, cultural, cognitive and social development, there is a long way to go so that its intentions become reality. at Schools. When art is taught in its fullness, based on studies and theoretical foundations, such as the triangular approach, there is an expansion of the possibilities for the child to interact, create and imagine from the contextualization, the reading of the work and its doing. artistic, constituting a continuous process of knowledge and expressiveness.
