The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between working conditions at the Parintins Civil Police Station and its impacts on the mental health of Social Work professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic period. On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-21 virus a global health emergency. Given this context, on March 11, 2020, when the Covid-19 virus spread, a multidimensional crisis had already begun in several countries around the world, the (WHO) characterized it as a pandemic, which worsened the social structure, political and economic in Brazil and the world. Therefore, many workers experienced mental illness caused by changes in working conditions, especially when work had to be carried out remotely, where social workers had to adapt to the new reality, which, in turn, was no different to professionals who work in the socio-legal area at the Civil Police Station in the municipality of Parintins in the State of Amazonas. This study has historical-dialectical materialism as its guiding theoretical basis, which made it possible to understand the essence of the phenomenon studied in its entirety. Bibliographic and field research was carried out. The techniques and instruments used were interviews with question guides. The nature of the research was based on an exploratory and explanatory nature. The subjects and sample of the research are the two Social Workers from the Civil Police Station of Parintins/AM. In relation to data analysis, the research is organized in a coherent and fluid way, articulating the reality data collected through the interview and question guide, which is established in the field research, relating the theoretical references through bibliographical research to emphasize the discussion on the topic of the professional work of social workers at the Parintins civil police station in times of pandemic: effects on mental health. The results point to the precariousness of the working conditions and relationships in which these social workers are inserted in the pandemic context. They had to meet the demands of the Public Security policy, at the same time, in which they experienced dilemmas, such as fear, concern for their own health, without considering good working conditions and without offering the necessary ethical, technical and sanitary conditions to continue carrying out their professional activities. Furthermore, the transformation caused by the pandemic brought changes triggered by the COVID-19 health crisis in the world of work and social workers, with the intensification of remote work, home office and other resources, to meet institutional requests during this period. pandemic. It should be added that the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of social work professionals at the Parintins Civil Police Station are noticeable, due to work overload, excessive working hours, stress, fear and anguish, which can contribute for the illness of these professionals.
