The academic environment is a source of stress, due to the excessive workload, deadlines to meet and interpersonal relationships with colleagues and teachers. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the food preferences of university students for certain types of food when they report being stressed. A self-completed form was administered to 109 ISB/UFAM students, aged over 18, from all undergraduate courses, containing questions related to feeding during periods of stress. The results obtained showed that university students feel more stressed during exam periods, and that at this time, most students show a preference for sweet foods, followed by fatty and easily accessible foods, such as fast food, since these types of food can cause a feeling of satisfaction. Academic stress ends up interfering with university students' diets, as they try to improve their emotional state by eating unhealthy foods, such as hyper-palatable ones. O estresse tem múltiplas causas e cada indivíduo reage de maneira diferente ao lidar com o estresse. O ambiente acadêmico é um causador de estresse, decorrente a carga excessiva de trabalhos, prazos a cumprir e relação interpessoal com colegas e professores. Portanto o objetivo desse estudo foi analisar as preferencias alimentares de universitários por determinados tipos de alimentos quando relatam estar estressados. Foi aplicado um formulário autopreenchido a 109 alunos do ISB/UFAM, com idade maior que 18 anos, de todos os cursos de graduação, contendo perguntas relacionadas à alimentação durante o período de estresse. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que os universitários se sentem mais estressados durante períodos de prova, e que neste momento, a maioria dos alunos evidenciam ter preferência por alimentos doces, seguido por alimentos gordurosos e de fácil acesso, como fast food, visto que esses tipos de alimentos podem causar uma sensação de satisfação.
