In the study it is talked about the recovery of information in the Documentation Center of TV A Crítica, which despite the absence of a formalized indexing policy, has one based on the experiences of the manager, the demands of the Telejornalismo Writing are met. From the guiding question ''What is the importance of an indexing policy in the retrieval of information?'', the present work has as general objective to analyze the indexing policy of the Documentation Center of TV A Crítica and its relevance in the recovery of information. The study is descriptive exploratory. It is a bibliographic research with a qualitative approach. To meet the objectives outlined, the study began with the concept of an indexing policy and the exposure of its operational procedure. The obtaining of the results was conducted through the use of a data collection instrument, two questionnaires were applied in order to verify the perceptions of librarians and user satisfaction. The conclusive analysis revealed that the indexing policy adopted by the Documentation Center of TV A Crítica, although implemented informally, plays a significant role in the context of the information retrieval process. A política de indexação é sem dúvidas um pilar importante em uma unidade de informação, visto que ela tem sua relevância no processo de recuperação de informação. Assim como é um caminho para os indexadores, promovendo regras que devem ser seguidas pelo indexador. No estudo é falado sobre a recuperação de informação no Centro de Documentação da TV A Crítica, que apesar da ausência de uma política de indexação formalizada, possui uma baseada em experiências da gestora, as demandas da Redação do Telejornalismo são atendidas. A partir da questão norteadora ‘’Qual a importância de uma política de indexação na recuperação de informação?’’, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo geral analisar a política de indexação do Centro de Documentação da TV A Crítica e sua relevância na recuperação da informação. O estudo é de caráter exploratório descritivo. É uma pesquisa bibliográfica com abordagem qualitativa. Para atender aos objetivos delineados, o estudo iniciou com o conceito de uma política de indexação e a exposição de seu procedimento operacional. A obtenção dos resultados foi conduzida mediante a utilização de um instrumento de coleta de dados, foram aplicados dois questionários, a fim de verificar as percepções das bibliotecárias e satisfação dos usuários.
