The high rates of femicide in the country result in a significant number of children and adolescents who have lost their mothers, becoming orphans and demonstrating vulnerability. This study aimed to analyze the mechanisms adopted by the state public administration to ensure the effective implementation and enforcement of Law 14.717/2023 in the state of Amazonas. The research was bibliographic with a qualitative approach, conducted through document analysis. The evaluation of the law's implementation in the state of Amazonas highlights considerable progress, such as the "Órfãos do Feminicídio" ("Orphans of Femicide") project and the support of entities like the Public Defender's Office of the State of Amazonas (DPE/AM) and the Amazonas State Court of Justice (TJAM), which provide legal and psychosocial assistance and strengthen the enforcement of protective measures. However, the persistence of high rates of this heinous crime shows that these policies' actions are insufficient. Despite the efforts of awareness programs, the law's effectiveness remains unsatisfactory, as it fails to adequately prevent new cases and to properly support those orphaned. |
