The research entitled Family Farming and Rural Education in a Rural Community
of the Municipality of Barreirinha-AM, assumes as its general objective: to analyze the
relations between the work of family farming and Rural Education in a community of
Barreirinha. The work has a qualitative approach with field research. The research was carried
out at the Nossa Senhora do Livramento Municipal School, located in the municipality of
Barreirinha-AM. In this research, there was the participation of teachers, managers, mothers
of students and students of the 6th year of Elementary School II. As a technique for data
collection, the questionnaire, dialogued conversation circle and semi-open interview were
used. Rural Education is a milestone in the educational field, it is marked by struggles,
resistance and challenges and instigates the urgency of discussing public policies aimed at
improving teaching and learning conditions in rural schools and the relationship with the
forms of production of life in communities. The results reveal that the relationship between
Family Farming and the Principles of Rural Education are of utmost importance for the
construction of new pedagogical strategies that help the rural subject towards emancipation
and break with stereotypes that diminish the rural subject as inferior and incapable.
