Resumo:
The present study has the general objective of understanding how the training process of deaf academics in the Mathematics Degree Course at the Centro de Estudos Superiores de Parintins-AM develops from the perspective of the Libras interpreter. The specific objectives are to describe, through the Libras interpreter's reports, the challenges of including deaf academics in Higher Education, identify the deaf people's mathematical learning difficulties based on the Libras interpreter's experience and analyze through the report of Libras interpreters, the challenges of deaf students during Higher Education training. Qualitative research, case study and questionnaire were chosen as data collection instruments. The research data shows that although praised by beautiful speeches, inclusion is a process that still happens slowly, it is necessary for universities to offer possibilities for deaf academics to obtain new perspectives as teachers in training in the right to acquire knowledge and recognition for their linguistic and cultural difference, associated with their ability to interact and live in the same space with other subjects.
