Resumo:
The study analyzed the interaction between organizational demands and the expectations of lawyers in a law firm, and how this affects their professional performance. The research, which was qualitative and descriptive, used semistructured interviews with five lawyers from a law firm in Manaus. The interviews were organized into three main categories: organizational demands, professional expectations and performance. The data was analyzed using Bardin's (2011) content analysis technique. The results showed that the main organizational demands include meeting strict deadlines, a high volume of work and the complexity of tasks. These demands contrast with the lawyers' expectations for greater organizational support, recognition and a clear definition of priorities. The misalignment between demands and expectations results in negative impacts on performance, such as pressure, stress and difficulties in delivering efficiently. However, the interviewees pointed out that teamwork has been a motivating factor in carrying out their activities.
