This study aims to analyze the impact of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies on the development and maintenance of operational skills in a thermoplastics company located in the Manaus industrial hub. Using the PIMM 4.0 system, the study investigates how these tools have been implemented to enhance the company’s efficiency, safety, productivity, and competitiveness, particularly in the production of micronized polyethylene. The research reveals that AR and VR provide immersive learning environments, optimizing operator training, machine maintenance, and product quality. However, it also highlights challenges such as the need for improved digital modeling and the cost of implementing these technologies. Therefore, the analysis suggests that despite these obstacles, the adoption of AR and VR is essential for competitiveness and innovation in the industrial sector, and continued investment in technological innovation and employee training is recommended. |
