Social groups, such as riverside dwellers and indigenous people, suffered various economic, social and environmental impacts as a result of the drought that hits Amazonian municipalities. Therefore, it became essential to identify government initiatives adopted by various bodies, which contributed to tackling the impacts of drought on vulnerable populations. Therefore, during the drought there was an urgent need to implement efficient public policies aimed at populations living on the banks of Amazon rivers, in addition to discussing adaptation strategies to extreme events and climate change. Este artigo apresenta algumas reflexões sobre a estiagem no estado do Amazonas, ocorrida nos anos de 2023 e 2024 e os seus impactos no agravamento da vulnerabilidade social dos povos que vivem na região. Os grupos sociais como ribeirinhos e indígenas sofreram diversos impactos econômicos, sociais e ambientais em decorrência da seca que atinge os municípios amazônicos. Assim, tornou-se essencial identificar as iniciativas governamentais adotadas por diversos órgãos que contribuíram para o enfrentamento dos impactos da estiagem às populações vulneráveis.
